What does the Functional Man think about the sun?

It is a necessity. It appears every day, waiting for you to step into it. And yet most people choose not to.

How could you waste a day indoors without soaking up the sweet, golden bath that waits just outside your door. At least for an hour. Two. Maybe three.

The sun is not something to avoid. It is something to use.

It is a free spa day, every day. You step into it and your body responds immediately. Your skin warms. Your eyes wake up. Your system comes online. Sweat beads down your face as your body adjusts, working with the light instead of hiding from it.

This is how you were built to exist.

The Functional Man understands that sunlight is not just light, it is information. It tells your body when to wake, when to wind down, how to regulate itself. When you remove it, things begin to drift. Sleep gets worse. Energy drops. You feel slightly off, and you don’t know why.

Step back into the sun and things start to correct themselves.

There are many ways to do this. Walk. Run. Lift. Swim, preferably in the ocean. Sit. Eat. Think. Do nothing at all.

It doesn’t matter what you do. It matters that you are there.

This is not about optimizing. It is about returning.

Find time in your day to be outside, deliberately. Not accidentally, not in passing, but with intention. Let the sun hit your face. Let your body feel it.

Do this consistently and your body will respond.

You will sleep better. You will think clearer. You will feel more grounded, more present, more capable.
